What if I sold/bought property during the tax year?
Typically when real estate is sold the seller pays a pro-rated amount of tax to buyer to cover the period of time the seller owned property during tax year, the buyer then becomes responsible for all property tax. Mortgage companies often require tax be collected and paid at closing, or held in tax escrow until the tax bill becomes due.

Contact your closing agent or mortgage company to determine the status of the tax bill.
