Property Taxes
The Jeffersontown Revenue Department annually collects nearly $4.5 million in tax on real property with total assessed value of approximately $3.3 billion.
Real estate property tax bills are based on a property’s assessed value, as set by the Jefferson County property valuation administrator (PVA), and the real property tax rate levied by Jeffersontown’s city government.
The 2021 Jeffersontown real estate tax rate is $0.1309 per $100 of assessed value ($100,000 assessed value = $130.90 tax bill).

Tax Bill
Real estate tax bills are mailed to property owners of record during the first week of October.
Payee
Make your tax payment payable to the City of Jeffersontown.
Due Dates
- October 31 - (Discount Period): Taxpayers that pay their real estate tax bill on or before October 31 will receive a 2% discount.
- December 31 - (Face Amount): The face amount of tax is due if paid between November 1 and December 31.
- January 1 (Penalty and Interest) - Tax payments made on or after January 1 will be assessed a one-time 6% penalty and begin to accrue interest at the rate of 6% per annum.
Any property with unpaid taxes as of May 1st will be charged a lien fee and a city tax lien will be recorded against the property until tax is paid in full.
The postmark date is accepted as the date paid.
