Traffic Signals 

The traffic signals throughout the City of Jeffersontown are operated, maintained, and repaired by the City of Louisville.

City Streets


  • The Jeffersontown Street Maintenance Department clears the city streets of snow and ice in inclement weather and cleans city streets during the spring, summer, and fall months. The Street Department also: 
  • Maintains city and municipal parking lots
  • Paints street markings and crosswalks
  • Repairs potholes
  • Replaces and maintains missing street name 
  • and road traffic signs

Responsibility & Equipment

Snow removal is the responsibility of the entire department. We spray brine to minimize the impact of snow and ice on our road system and aggressively respond to clear the roads and municipal areas with 14 fully outfitted snow trucks and a compliment of heavy equipment, such as: 
  • Backhoes
  • Bulldozers
  • Grade tractors
  • Skid steer loaders
