The tax administrator and staff license all businesses that are physically
located or are coming into town to do business for profit or gain. These taxes are deposited into the general fund of the city to be used to defray the general expenses of city government.
There is a withholding tax known as the "Jeffersontown Occupational Tax". This tax is withheld by the Employer on the Employee's Gross Wages and is remitted to the city on a quarterly basis.
Due dates are 01/31, 04/30, 07/31, and 10/31 of each calendar year.
Forms will be automatically mailed to all licensed businesses.

Tax Bills are generated the last week in
September. Jeffersontown does offer a 2% discount if paid
by October 31. The face amount is due by January
2. Tax Bills are considered delinquent if unpaid by January 3. The Homeowner will receive a one time
6% Penalty. The Interest is based upon 12% per annum.

please note: These are two separate taxing jurisdictions.
Jeffersontown does not have a "Net Profit Tax".
